Maine 1040ME Schedule 2, Line 2 not bringing correct tax info over from federal return . . . just inserting $10,000

TurboTax transfers data from your federal return to your state return. Before you begin troubleshooting your state return, go back through your federal itemized deductions and make sure everything is correct.
After you review your federal return, select the State Taxes tab and review the state section. Pay close attention to the information, especially if you have made changes to your federal return. There might be new sections that need to be completed.

Just to clarify, 1040ME Schedule 2, Line 2a calls for Line 5e of Schedule A of 1040 to be brought over from federal return.
In my case, Line 5e on Schedule A has 30,000, but Line 2a on Schedule 2 has 10,000 . . . hence my dilemma bc wrong number being brought over from federal return.
This is due to the State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction limit , the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBA), increased the limit for 2025 for federal returns but some states did not increase the limit. This is why the amount in your state return is $10,000.
I have confirmed with Maine Revenue Depart that TurboTax should not be capping SALT deduction on Line 2(a) of Schedule 2 of 1040ME (Federal and Maine cap for SALT deduction should be same). They said I need to contact TurboTax to fix the error . . . how do I go about that???
This should be updated.
