Living in PA , working in New York

My husband is a w2 employee in the state of New York. We reside in PA.

Looking at his pay- his gross earnings were $9,937.48 .  There was $651.36 with held for New York and $96.66 withheld for PA. is this accurate? are we to be paying in both states or will we get some sort of credit when we file taxes/refund?

Yes, your husband will have to pay tax on his income in both NY (where he works) and PA (where he lives). He'll have to file a nonresident return for NY. You may qualify for a credit in PA for the taxes paid in NY on the income that's taxed in both states (up to the PA tax on the same income). It's best to prepare the nonresident NY return first so that TurboTax can automatically calculate any credit and add it to your resident PA return.
