Is TurboTax smart enough to not double tax me on W2 income already collected by state (UT)

My W2 shows(correctly) that UT already collected some of the W2 tax. This is shown in W2's box 17 State income tax.

During the state tax portion of interview TurboTax asks me to apportion the income that was made while in UT.  UT Amount of Wages:

My question is: do I give the number amount that wasn't yet taxed (my employer didn't update the withholdings in time) or the entire sum of paychecks that were received while in UT, even those that were already taxed.

Example:

Gross wages earned while in UT: 10,000 (sum of all paychecks)

Employer doesn't update tax info for a few weeks. So first 2,000 above were not taxed by UT.
After the tax withholdings are finally updated UT tax collected on the last 8,000 is $300  (box 17 of W2)

In turbotax screen above do I enter 10,000 (the entire gross amount) or just the remaining 2,000. The portion that wasn't yet taxed. Does turbotax know to not count the 8,000 that was already income taxed?

I hope my question is clear enough.

thank you all in advance.

Yes, enter the full amount ($10,000 in your example) that should be taxed in Utah (UT) since the W-2 state wages are not accurate. It would seem based on your question that the federal amount should equal the UT amount. The only reason there would be a different number is if you were a part year resident in UT and had wages that were not earned or received from a UT employer.

@DianeW777 in my example 10000 is the amount i earned while in ut, not the entire year. the concern is that not entire earned income had taxes withheld while in ut. so its not clear if i should enter only the portion that wasnt taxed by ut. in this example 10000(total earned while in ut)-8000(that did get  taxed by ut). or if TT knows from box 17 of w2 that Ive already paid some ut tax and so entering 10000 wont get me double taxed by utah

Yes, enter the full amount that should be only the amount in 2025 that was earned in UT as the income in the box for UT. I hope this clarifies it for you.
