Is choosing No for CA Nonresident mean CA resident?

There are 3 resident options that you must choose for California:

1. Resident
2. Part-Year Resident
3. Non-Resident

An answer of "No" to non-resident will mean that you will then have to determine if you were a part-year resident or a resident of California.

Please refer to the California Franchise Tax Board Publication 1031. The residency requirements with examples begin on page 3 of the booklet.

TurboTax will also ask the appropriate questions as you navigate through the program to determine your residency.
