It let me continue with filing, but at the very last step, it again said "Check This Entry Schedule 62-WH: Smart wks 1 payer name must be entered." Upon entering that, it asked for more, but was never satisfied. PLEASE HELP. Screen sharing didn't work consistently, complicating the situation.

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

 

TurboTax Online:

 

  1. Sign into your online account.
  2. Locate the Tax Tools on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. A drop-down will appear. Select Tools
  4. On the pop-up screen, click on “Share my file with agent.”
  5. This will generate a message that a diagnostic file gets sanitized and transmitted to us.
  6. Please provide the Token Number that was generated in the response.

 

TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:

 

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click the Online tab in the black bar across the top of TurboTax and select “Send Tax File to Agent” *
  3. This will generate a message that a diagnostic copy will be created.  Click on OK and the tax file will be sanitized and transmitted to us.
  4. Please provide the Token Number  (including the dash) that was generated in the response.

 

*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)

I was encouraged by your request yesterday to look at our return,

but there has been no response since. Are you still working on it? I am very concerned that time is running out. Please recommend a solution so i can efile. Thanks.

Tony- sorry, the computer redacted the first part of the code, can you resend putting a space between each number (like this 1 2 3 or 4-5-6-)?  Thanks and I will get right on it.  @tonyjag

Great to hear from you again! Looks like some AI thought part of it was a phone number. Here is the incident number as you requested:

I was also given a token number after sending a protected copy:

Please confirm that you can access whatever you need.

Hi Tony, Sorry for the slight delay but I am back on it.  The error looks to be the entry for the Nationwide Life Insurance 1099-INT.  It is showing a $1 withholding for Massachusetts but the missing field is the state ID number.  The data shows it was imported from Quicken or Quickbooks.  Do you have the actual 1099-INT issued?  Please check if there is an entry for Box 4.  Thanks.  @tonyjag

Hi MaryK4,

The NATIONWIDE INSURANCE 1099-K is hard copy only and the numbers were hand-entered by me via Turbotax.

PAYER'S TIN is [removed] at left

Box 4 is blank. Here are the relevant populated boxes

BOX #.                                 Content

1. Interest income                $295.33

14. State                                 MA

16. State identification no. 314156830

All other numbered boxes are blank

The $1 is probably the result of trying to get Turbotax to allow us to efile. As i recall, it would not accept 0 so i entered $1.

Can you go into the Forms (click the Forms icon located in the upper-left corner of the screen) and change the Box 16? @tonyjag

OK, you mean form Schedule 62-WH? it has no box 16

No, look for the 1099-INT in the list in the federal section- you will be able to edit the state ID number in Box 16.  @tonyjag

OK, but box 16 already contains 3 1 4 1 5 6 8 3 0 in light blue. Box 17 contains $1 in darker blue.
