In deductions & credits: your tax breaks: Income taxes paid (w-2 taxes, etc) figures don't match my w-2s. How does turbotax calculate that amount?

In the Deductions & Credits section, under 'Income Taxes Paid', that amount reflects the total of all W-2 Federal Taxes and State Taxes paid added together.

For example, if you had $500 Federal Tax withheld on one W-2, and $3,500 Federal Tax withheld on another W-2, and $400 State Taxes on one W-2 and $100 State Taxes on the other W-2, the total amount shown under Income Taxes Paid would be $4,500.

Type 'W-2' in the Search window, then click on 'Jump to W-2' if you want to verify your entries there.

If you entered any other 1099 forms that had Taxes Withheld, these would be included in the total also.

More info:

"Where does the number for other income taxes come from?
The amount includes taxes that were taken directly (withheld) from paychecks or other payments you received (reported on a 1099-R, 1099-G or other tax form)."
