I am finding that the latest turbotax Illinois 2025 form not calculating the property tax credit. I am under the $500K cap for married filing jointly so it should be calculating 5% of my prop tax paid but its displaying zero. I think i can override?

overrides prevent e fiing.
Check your answers for the questions about the property. One wrong answer and the credit will be denied.
There are 4 questions which must be answered yes if true, and then you must select the property county from the dropdown. The full PIN must be entered if not proforma'd from last year.
One other limitation is that the credit cannot exceed your tax liability before the credit.
Thanks so much for the quick reply. I did double check the 4 questions and PIN, and still no change. Also checked my tax liability and was already getting a refund. I think this is a bug in the version. One caveat is that my situation is a bit different from the majority in that I pay prop taxes for a 2nd home as well as my primary home in Illinois...maybe this is where the bug is...
From IL PUB 108
Pub-108, Illinois Property Tax Credit (Income Tax)
The Illinois Property Tax Credit is a credit on your individual income tax return (Form IL-1040) equal to 5 percent of Illinois Property Tax (real estate tax) you paid on your principal residence.
The tax paid limit is based on IL -1040 line 14, less any credit for taxes paid to other states (line 3 of Schedule ICR)
Whether you owe or are getting a refund doesn't matter. The credit can only reduce your taxes (line 3 of ICR) to zero. If possible, review the ICR
Thanks I think i got it now.... I found this and it finally makes sense -
"If your property tax credit exceeds the income tax you owe, you may not receive a refund for that amount, and you may not carry unused credit to other years. Your property tax credit may only reduce the income tax you owe to zero."
