Is Indiana non-resident gambling income tax deductible (wholly or partially) in my resident state of Illinois?

Yes.  Illinois taxes all of your income, but Indiana also gets to tax gambling winnings won there.  Therefore, any tax you must pay to Indiana on gambling winnings will be counted as a credit on your Illinois tax return to the point that Illinois taxes the same income.

Yes.  Illinois taxes all of your income, but Indiana also gets to tax gambling winnings won there.  Therefore, any tax you must pay to Indiana on gambling winnings will be counted as a credit on your Illinois tax return to the point that Illinois taxes the same income.

Illinois does not give credit for taxes paid to other states on the gambling winnings. Initially we took credit but received letter from IL Dep of Revenue disallowing the credit.
