If a box 15 is asking about state tax in TN and TN is not on the list but will not let me go further without a state. what do I do?

Several  states do not have a state income tax.  So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists.   Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming

Why haven't the programmers started including:

Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming

in the list anyhow !! !! (and then just avoid doing anything with those State entries...if appropriate.)

I know, I know...unintended consequences in the software handling of those $$.

But I have trouble seeing how those would be difficult to deal with..(no, I'm not a programmer)
