Can you clarify your resident state? Colorado is delayed in processing and will start accepting returns this week. If you have a state return that has not been accepted or rejected, it is normal for it to show as pending. And sometimes states can take a week or 2 longer than the IRS to start accepting and/or processing.
Each tax return should show its own refund or amount due since they go to different tax agencies. You should have one return going to the IRS and then 2 separate state returns, one going to your resident state and one going to the non-resident state. Did you prepare 3 separate returns before you filed?
@DawnC my residential state is MA. My residential state refund shows that I owe money but what I owe does not total the full amount I filed. Not sure what’s going on… by the way thank you for responding
Please clarify what you are seeing when you say your MA return shows you owe but does not total the full amount you filed. For example where are you seeing each of these numbers (return shows owing) and (full amount you filed)?
Hello, it says what I owe which is $109, it does not say what I filed or any other dollar amount other than my due balance. But my tax returns had a pretty good amount of MA state tax but I’m not getting any of it.
Can you clarify if you entered the nonresident state income information on the Massachusetts return so the credits for taxes paid to another state was applied?
