I was told i would get full credit for adding solar, i don't understand how to do form 5695 on your site.

My cost is 23,825.43 and i get 548. back from IRS but was told by the company i would get back 30%

Yes, you may report the cost of your solar panel installation and claim the 30% rebate under Deductions & Credits >> Your Home >> Energy Credits.

However, the Home Energy Credit is limited to a lifetime total of $500 per taxpayer.

The easiest way to find this section of TurboTax is to search on "energy credit" then click on the "jump to..." link to go to the start of this section. Click Yes to the question, "Do you want to take an investment credit for 2016?" and follow the prompts.
