I was filing as Married for Federal, CA. & UT. I put in spousal info on all forms. Q. Why does it state that CA & UT returns were Individual Returns, Spouse info on all ?

Of Course!

My Wife I Legally Blind and on Total and Permanent Disability.

Her only income is her small Long Term Disability payment from her prior employer each month, and her Social Security Disability Income (SSDI). She had no Job income in either CA or UT in 2018. CA. taxes disability income, SSDI.

both state returns came up as Individual type when filed.

Why is this?  Do I Still need to file for my wife's individual returns?

This "individual" designation causes some confusion. In tax-speak, "individual" means "personal" taxes as opposed to "business" (corporation, partnership, etc.) taxes.

It has nothing to do with marital status! So if you're filing a 1040, you're filing "individual" taxes (even though you are married).
