I was a student in one state from Jan-June 16, then moved to another state July- Dec 16 and now have an income. On state 1 tax from, do I exclude the state 2 income?

Yes, if you changed your state residency (as opposed to taking a temporary assignment) you only want to include the income you earned while living in that state on each state tax return.

Yes, if you changed your state residency (as opposed to taking a temporary assignment) you only want to include the income you earned while living in that state on each state tax return.
