I was a student in Ohio with no income earlier in 2016, then moved to Washington and had income. Do I still need to file Ohio taxes if my income has been only from Washington?

It depends on how much your income was. If you had more than $12,250 for the year, you are technically required to file part year resident return, even though you will not owe anything.

It also depends on what you mean by "was a student in Ohio". If you were only in Ohio to attend school, or were a resident of another state, prior to going to school; you were never an Ohio resident for tax purposes and do not need to file.

Unless you plan to return to Ohio, I wouldn't bother to file a return.
