I was a part-time Hawaii resident, and paid income tax to the state. However, when I enter my Hawaii wages on the state form, it calculates that I still owe. Why?

The withholding was not enough to satisfy the taxable amount of income, plus there may be some state adjustments that could cause you to have a tax liability when completing the return.
