The program gives me the opportunity to allocate dividends and other unearned income, but capital gains is not an option.

Capital gains are included in "other unearned income".

No, they aren't. The program provides a column with the amounts, and a second editable column where you're able to type in the dollar value you want to allocate. The capital gains are not included in either of the two rows, the dollar values only include dividends and interest.
