I put in my state id doc # but the system insists that the first 3 numbers are missing. What can I do?

Check the pictures provided by NY to ensure you are using the right number. (It's not the DMV-ID number)

And note that the "characters" you are supposed to enter are ONLY the first three....and not the whole ID number (whether letters, or numbers, or a combination of letters and numbers)
