I paid taxes on gambling winnings in michigan (non-resident) and deducted the majority of those winnings as losses why am i not getting those taxes back?

I paid taxes on gambling winnings in michigan (non-resident) and deducted the majority of those winnings as losses why am i not getting those taxes back?
On the federal return, gambling losses are only allowed as an itemized deduction. Michigan doe not allow any itemized deductions, so the gambling winnings are fully taxable in MI.
