I paid my 2017 taxes with vouchers and personal checks. I can see from my bank account the money has been taken. Why does it still say in Turbo that the balance is due?

Because you elected to pay the amount due outside of Turbo Tax they have no record of payment that you made. If you made the payments and they have cleared then you are all set just indicate on your return that you are paying your balance due by mailing in your payment.

There is no feedback into the tax software as to whether you actually paid the Final Balance due. So the balance due will always show. Your account/routing/bank information is transmitted to the IRS and then they take over. Unfortunately the IRS does not share when the payment has been made to Turbo Tax, so they have no way of knowing that the balance has been paid in full. You can ignore that since you know the taxes due are paid.

Once your Bank Account is debited and appears on your statement, that will be your proof of payment.
