I need to add AP as the state for an official address on one of my forms. I don’t see it in the drop down box of state name options. Is there a way to add AP as my state?

It’s a military address.

TurboTax doesn't include "AP" (Army Post Office) as a selectable state option because it's a military mailing designation rather than a state.

For military addresses, you may choose the appropriate state corresponding to the APO location, often using states like VA (Virginia), MD (Maryland), or AA (Armed Forces Americas) depending on your overseas location.

If TurboTax requires a state selection and you can't select AP, enter the closest valid state designation for your APO address.

You need to edit your address information.  Click on My Info on the left side of the online program screen.

Edit the Address and phone section.

In the box labeled Type of mailing address, use the dropdown and select Military (APO, FPO, or DPO)

AP will be listed in the State Code box.
