I'm preparing a fiduciary return for a trust that "lives" in a different state. How do I get TurboTax Business to create a residentrather than nonresident return?

You can use the "resident" address as the address to input into the program (via Step-by-Step) and then use a "C/O" on the address line as your "nonresident" (mailing) address as described in the instructions.
See https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i1041#idm140376226656384
Note: What is critical is only the state you select to download (and pay for) in the state section of the program.
