I'm confused..do you calculate the federal income refund with the state refund I'm kind of confused it's showing what I will get back from federal but not state

TurboTax calculates the federal and state refund amounts separately. The IRS and your state department of revenue are two different government entities.

If you have completed entering your state information, to see if you are getting a state refund or if the refund is $0 or if you owe the state, go to the state and check the refund meter at the top of the screen.

Federal and state are completely separate.  At the end Turbo Tax shows you the net combined federal and state for your info.  But the refunds come from different places at different times.
