Employer took out income tax for MD
W-2 Reflects MD income tax being taken out
I no longer work for the company

Simple ... file a non resident MD to get back the withholding.

maybe not so simple, do as suggested but there could be an issue if your employer reported as MD wages. then it may take a corrected W-2 to get the money from MD. and don't forget to file in VA if you haven't done so.
