I live in WA state but Turbo Tax says I must flea a Rhode Island state return,why?

Did your W-2 show income from RI? In the My Info section of TT, did you indicate that you had other state income from RI? Did you live in RI for part of 2023?

I had accidently listed my wife as RI in the Personal Info section. Corrected that and all is well.
