As long as the only income you have from Maryland is wages, and you filed a Form MW 507 with your employer so that no Maryland tax was withheld from your pay, you won't need to file an MD return, and you'll owe no tax to MD.
In the Personal Info section, you may have indicated that you had income from another state. You can go back and correct that by editing your Personal Info to show that you didn't have any income from another state (because it's not taxable in Maryland in your situation).
What if I've already filed a Maryland state return and I owe? Is there a way to 'withdraw' it?
Did you file as a MD Nonresident? You can file an amended MD NR return and claim zero MD income. IN the Reason for Amending section, include that you are a Pennsylvania resident filing all MD income in PA.
Yes, I did file as a MD nonresident. Thank you! I appreciate your help.
Is it as simple as that?
So I am ineligible to complete an amended Maryland return online. I'll have to print it out somehow?
Yes, most amended returns must be mailed.
Where would I find the form for that? I hate to be asking all these questions I just feel lost!
We are here to help and glad to do so! Sign back into your account, and go to the state taxes. Edit Maryland and go to the summary screen- Edit Other situations and look for the questions if you need to amend.
So I amended my Maryland taxes, and when I got to the end it told me that in order to complete my amended Maryland state return, I need to mail it. But, It didn't give me any option to print or see the form or anything, so now I'm totally lost.
@zquinnett
Would the form just be 505x?
Yes 505X
