I live in one state and work in another (AL). I’m eligible for a credit in my state, but I’ll only receive it after I send a copy of my AL return, but it’s watermarked.

So I’m wondering, what should I do in this circumstance? Is there a period of time until I receive a copy without the watermark?

If you are efiling the state return, you will not get an un-watermarked copy. (This is so you do not efile and send it to the state.) If you need to send a copy of the other state tax return to get the credit, you can send the watermarked copy if you sign it (I suggest with blue ink).

yes, TurboTax will remove the watermark before April 18th , usually.
