First. In the federal return personal info section did you indicate you earned income in another state, make sure to indicate this? complete the rental income section and expenses.
Then you must complete the non-resident tax return prior to completing your resident tax return. In that return, you only allocate the amounts to the non-resident state. The non-resident state will tax you only on the income sourced to the non-resident state. Go through the whole interview.
Lastly, you complete your resident return. NOTE : all income is taxable to your resident state, regardless of where earned. You will get a credit on your resident return for any double taxed income paid to the non-resident state.
I hope this helped.

Unfortunately, I didn't know that the non resident needed to be done first and did the resident one. How do I undo it? delete the resident form? or modify the non resident form?

I figured out an answer, I had to remove the data for both states and then work on the non resident state first. The remove data is under the Edit selection.
