Some states are quicker than others; some are quite slow. And
any of them can decide to examine a return more closely for various
reasons. Some states have had considerable delays as they crack down on fraudulent returns.
The Georgia tax website says:
- Please allow 90 business days to process a return and issue a refund.
- All first-time Georgia income tax filers, or taxpayers who have not
filed in Georgia for at least five years, will receive a paper check.
But there are some things you can check. First be sure it was sucessfully filed. Did you efile, or did you choose to print, sign, and mail?
