I have not filed a state return in previous years because NH does not have an income tax. How can I bypass the state return and only file the federal return?

I do have dividend income of about $1000.00.  Do I owe taxes on that in NH?

Since your dividend income was less, you do not have to file a New Hampshire tax return.  See steps below to delete state.  Residents earning interest and dividend taxable income of more than $2,400 annually ( $4,800 for joint filers) must file a return.  A 5% tax is assessed on interest and dividend income.
