I got "Combined Tax Statement for forms 1098, 1099..." (recipient copy) instead of a regular 1099-NEC. Am I still required to send a state copy of 1099_NEC with my MA tax return?

I am self-employed and TurboTax (on behalf of my client) sent me a "Combined Tax Statement for forms1098, 1099..." (recipient copy) instead of a regular 1099-NEC.
Am I still required to attach a 1099_NEC state copy 1 to my MA tax return?
How do I get this state copy?
Thank you

No, you don't need to attach a paper copy of Form 1099-NEC to your Massachusetts return, especially if you are filing electronically. The “Combined Tax Statement” you received is just the payer’s substitute recipient copy and is valid for reporting your income.

I will be mailing my tax return from a post office (don't have extra 25 dollars for e-filing).

You are saying that the Combined Tax Statement is a valid copy, so, maybe I should attach it to my MA tax return? I feel it would be a bit weird because I only have a recipient copy...

Thank you for helping with this question, I think I am not the only one.

If you are filing a MA tax return by mail, you are required to include copies of all tax forms, according to the instructions in their website:

"Enclose with your Form 1 Schedule 62-WH and all state copies of your Forms W-2, 1099, PWH-WA, W-2G, 2G, NRW and Schedule K-1s which included Mas sachusetts withholding, failure to do so may delay the processing of your return. Go to mass.gov/masstaxconnect for online payment options. If you need to mail your payment, make your check or money order payable to Commonwealth of Massachusetts and be sure to sign the check and write your Social Security number on it."

Thank you.

This is exactly what is bothering me.
I realize that have to send a copy of 1099-NEC with my tax returns to the MA DOR but I do not have it. I got a recipient copy of the "combined tax statement" instead.
