I got an email saying that my return was accessed but I don't know what that means, does anyone know what it means?

Does anyone know what it means when it says my refund was accessed?

Do you mean your return was accepted?  If so, that means the IRS (State) have accepted your return for processing.  If they find no errors, your refund will have a date you will receive it.

For Federal refund you can check the IRS website, Where’s my Refund

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If you have a State refund you can check the status on your state’s website:

............there are emails from TurboTax that say your "Return" was accessed...not your "Refund"

________________

People misuse the term "Return" all the time in this forum.....your "Return" that TurboTax refers to, is referencing the data file you send to the IRS and state about your taxes.   Whether you get a refund or have to pay in more is immaterial...The IRS and the States call this data set as your tax "return".

Now, if you log onto your TurboTax account, and download any tax files to your home computer....they send an email to your registered email address indicating that your tax file (return) was accessed.

(might also do so if you change your Intuit account settings, but that I don't recall for certain0
