I filled out my IL state return before my out-of-state return for the money earned in a summer internship in DC. Both returns are saying I'm owed $159, how do i fix it?

Go back and review the Illinois return.

It looks as though the IL return was already submitted because it won't let me review it anymore. Is my best bet just to amend my IL return so both IL and DC don't both send the same refund?

If you did not enter the credit for taxes paid to DC, you may be able to get additional refund by amending the Illinois tax return. See I need to amend my state return - Community
