I entered a food pantry tax credit by accident

I didn’t know what I was doing, I accidentally put in a food pantry credit and now I can’t take it off. My state return is started but not filed or accepted. Can I fix this if my federal return is pending?

Yes, you can change your Missouri income tax return because it has not been filed or accepted. You are not able to change your federal return because it is pending.

To take off the Food Pantry Tax Credit:

  1. Select State. Then continue your Missouri return.
  2. Update Taxes and Credits on the screen You’re Finished Your Missouri Return.
  3. Click through the screens until you reach Choose the Tax Credit.
  4. Remove any dollar amounts from FPT – Food Pantry Tax.
  5. Click on the drop down menu to the right of FPT – Food Pantry Tax and select the top choice (No Entry).
  6. Click Continue at the bottom.
