I did not work in Illinois in 2016. I lived there for some of the year. Turbo Tax filed an Illinois return for me. It was rejected. Do I need to worry about this? Thanks!

It depends -
No - If you lived in IL during 2016 but not 2017 and had no IL income for 2017, then you would have no IL state income tax filing requirement in 2017
No - If you are actually talking about the 2017 tax year and lived part of the year in IL but made no income from any sources while living part year in IL, then you will not have any IL state income tax filing requirement in 2017
Maybe - If you are actually talking about the 2017 tax year and lived part of the year in IL and made money from any sourced (even sources outside of IL) living part year in IL, then you may have a part-year IL state income tax filing requirement in 2017 if your income level while a resident of IL is above the filing threshold for the state. Otherwise, you will have no IL filing requirement.
