I currently live in MD and work in VA however I am now paying to file taxes in VA and I'm not sure why. I've never paid $134 to file my taxes on turbo tax before.

MD & VA are reciprocal states - if your only income in VA is wages then you don't have to file a VA return at all unless VA taxes were withheld erroneously (your VA employer should be withholding MD taxes).

If that's the case then you should turn off the TT/VA return. In Personal Info, for the question Did You Make Money in Any Other States?, click No.
