I can't get the State refund out of "Pending". The Federal Income tax has cleared, but the State is in limbo. What do I need to do?

It is normal for the state return to be pending for a few days. Each state processes differently and at different times so the time frame can vary.  Also, keep in mind some tax returns need extra review for accuracy, completeness, and to protect taxpayers from fraud and identity theft. Extra processing time may be necessary.
