I can't get past the Sales Tax Deduction screen. I selected one the categories (out of two) and no matter how I answer, I get an error on the Federal Review. I tried editing the form but then I got a message that editing the form would cause later errors. Oh good grief!! I want to deduct the state taxes NOT the sales tax. I have no frigging idea what I paid in sales tax. I never had this problem in prior years! HELP!

I went back to the forms and started over in the Deductions area. I was then able to get past the sales tax although it was very confusing. However when I leave that I get this screen and I have no idea what this means. I don't have sales tax information. HELP!
The general sales tax is calculated automatically based on an IRS formula; if the program has automatically calculated that the general sales tax deduction would be better for you than your actual state and local tax payments entered, then you should keep it selected as yes, and then hit Continue at the bottom to move forward.
Thanks but I do think they could do a lot better job of explaining this!!! I just filed and I think that field was still filled in on my form.
