I am working on the pension exemption for my nonresident Kansas return. Is my federal amount exempt from Kansas?

Yes. Since you are filing a KS nonresident state income tax return, the full amount of your pension would be considered exempt from your KS nonresident state income tax return.

The federal law prohibits any state from taxing pension income of non-residents, even if the pension was earned within the state
