I am in the military but i still pay taxes to sc but have not lived there since 2015. why are they saying i owe them money. none of my money was made in sc.

What is your state of record?  If it is South Carolina, you still need to file a South Carolina return reporting all of your income there.

If your state of record is not South Carolina, are you having South Carolina taxes withheld from your wages?

If your state of record is not South Carolina, you have no other income there and are not having South Carolina taxes withheld, then you do not need to file a South Carolina return.

Double check all information entered on the My Info page to see if South Carolina is indicated.  (See the screenshot below)

Exactly - at least you aren't constantly having to change what state return you are filing!
