I am filing two state returns: one for NY and one for NJ. The NJ return is doubling my wages because it is adding NJ and NY together, even though, it is only 1 W2.

I traveled for work and that is why I need to fill out two state returns. How in the application can I change the wages for my NJ return?

You are correct.  You will need to go into the New Jersey return and look for the entry that asks for income that is double-taxed.  In this space enter your New York income and everything should be taken care of.
