I already filed my taxes and got them accepted. Yet I just got an email saying I needed fill out this Form 540, California Resident Income Tax Return

If you have gone into the electronic filing center and can see your return is "Accepted" then you can disregard the email.

Many customers prepared their taxes early but were not able to file until electronic filing opened.

This is why you should verify with your own eyes whether or not the return has been "Accepted" by California.

I went an signed back in thru the email. It took me back to where the app takes me when I log in and it didnt have me do anything. So I'm guessing I'm cleared

Indeed you are clear. It sounds like your return got accepted before we could let you know you could e-File starting today. You are on top of it!
