I have income from more than one state, so I must file in each state. On my Oklahoma return, one of the questions TT asks in the interview is how much of a particular sum was earned in their state. I get this part, but I don't recognize the number that TT carried forward from my Federal return. How can I discover this? I tried right-clicking on the amount to see if I could find the source, but no joy. Is the only way to read through the many pages of my Fed tax return to see where it is? The description they also give doesn't quite jibe. Thanks in advance for any response.

The amount is transferred from your federal input as broken out in the state sections accordingly. For example, in the wages input, you would break out your wages in boxes 15-17.
However, if the amounts are not pulling through as reported on your W-2 statements, you can still adjust them in the state interview section to ensure you are only paying taxes on the income earned in each state where you are a nonresident.
Thanks for your response. I finally was able to figure out where the transfer came from. It was from a Schedule. I just had to go through my forms to find it. It would be nice if TT would have a "source" for transferred items as well as some of the other things they do have the ability to right-click and get a source.
I appreciate everyone's help so much here on the forum! Over the years folks have helped me so many times!
