How does Turbotax compute the "addition to income" on my state return attributable to municipal bond interest from other state that is taxable in my state?

I listed the amount exempt from my state's tax under that state and the remainder under "multiple states." But the addition to income amount computed by Turbotax is greater that the "multiple states" entry.

Your answer as to which states you are filing did not appear but - based on your name - I am assuming that at least one of them is Utah.

When filing multiple state tax returns it is important to do them in order.  First, file an y non-resident tax returns.  Second, any part-year resident tax returns.  Finally, your resident tax return for whichever state is your home.  That will allow you to take any credits necessary in order to balance out the returns.
