How do you enter the IEDC VCI Tax credit

We are currently checking on this experience for you.  There is not currently a spot in the interview or Step-by-Step in the Online product or the Desktop product for entering the information on the VCI tax credit for Indiana.  There is a way to access the form IN-OCC in Forms mode in the Desktop product that has the section of claiming the Venture Capital Investment tax credit.

Here are the steps to take to claim the Indiana Venture Capital Investment credit.  This must be done using a TurboTax desktop version, not TurboTax Online.

1. Click Forms in the upper right corner.
2. If the Sch IN-OCC form is not shown in the list of forms in your return, then add it by clicking Open Form in the upper left corner and find Sch IN-OCC in the list under Indiana by clicking the +.
3. Once the Sch IN-OCC is open, scroll down to the VCI Credit Smart Worksheet to enter your information.
4. Enter the certification year, the total credit approved by IEDC on line F1, and any carryover credit from a prior year on line F6.  

Those entries will take the credit to the appropriate tax forms automatically.
