How do I get TurboTax to include sales tax on NY itemized deductions?

This is not happening automatically.  I already added sales tax info in the federal section, but this is not populating my state form.

Sales tax is not deductible on the New York tax return.

Actually it is an item on the NY itemized deductions page, and I finally re-visited the state tax questions and now the problem seems to be resolved.

On Form IT-196 the sales tax is entered on line 5. But it is also entered as an adjustment on line 41, which gets subtracted from your New York itemized deductions. The net result is that you don't get a deduction for it.
