How do I find out whether my state tax owed amount will be automatically deducted from my checking account? If so, when?

The best place to check is to see what you selected on your return. To do that follow these steps:

1. Sign into your Turbo Tax account

2. Click on tax home or take me to my return

3. Scroll down till you see Your tax returns and documents

4. Click on your 2018 return, and then select add a state (you are not actually adding a state, this just prompts the correct menu)

5. Navigate to where you need to on the return- file tab and see what you elected here

It can take a few weeks for your state to accept and process your return and then draft your account. You can always call your state's department of revenue and see if they can give you a better ETA.
