I changed my state driver license in 2018. Registration, plates, insurance, changed in 2019, and moved into my studio in 2019. I also had to drive to and from CA and WA two times.
In my new job I as a caregiver for grandparents, I spend more money on gas then I get paid for each mile.
Last year I paid a lot of money for my health but forgot to mention it. Can I deduct it this year?
I work for Department of Social and Health Services.

1. You are self-employed. Are you paid to care for your grandparents? Who pays you?
2. For 2018, you file as a part year CA resident. WA does not have a State income tax.
3. You cannot deduct 2017 medical expenses on your 2018 return. You must amend 2017.
