How do I add state taxes I paid?

If you need to enter your estimated state tax payments in TurboTax, you can follow these steps: 

1. Open your tax return.
2. Search for estimated tax payments with the magnifying glass tool on the top of the page. 
3. Click on the Jump to estimated tax payments link at the top of the search results.
4. Click on Start next to State estimated taxes for 2021.
5. Select yes for the question Did you pay state estimated taxes for 2021?
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

The computer response I got did not work.  I reviewed my entries top to bottom with a tax expert.  That didn't help me find what I needed.  After that call, I went through every queue myself.  I found what looked like it would work.  It did.  Where to enter state taxes withheld.  I've used this software several times in the past and had no problem.  Filing was drawn out and very frustrating.

Can you clarify what form the state taxes were withheld on?   Or were you able to file?

State income tax for New Mexico.  I was finally able to file.
