How can I correct Turbotax mistake? It assumes that my solar panel is a fuel cell credit and instead of giving me the full amount deduction it limits to $500 a year.

Then you entered the cost of the solar in the wrong box. Go back to Federal>Deductions and Credits>My Home>Home Energy Credits to correct.
