How can I add IT-588 to my NY state return? I received a request from NY state asking for form IT-558 but I cannot find in my tax return pdf.

Turbotax should include IT-558.  I'm not familiar with that form so I don't know if it should be triggered automatically or if you have to call it up.  There are several pages of state specific additions and subtractions in turbotax, and you need to review those lists carefully to see if the situation you need is there.  If you are using the program installed in your own computer, you should be able to access the form by clicking the Forms icon to switch to Forms mode, then type IT-558 in the search box.  (This might also work by searching for the form online when you are in the state module, but I'm not sure.)

You may need to call customer support and get an NY specialist who can see your screen and help you find the form.

OP is asking from TT online, and it appears that NYS asked for the form after the state return was filed.
